Business Changes
When we first opened BJ's, we had big goals and dreams about everything we wanted to achieve. We wanted to make the best party food in Mitchell and have a space where our kids could grow up and we could all contribute to the wonderful atmosphere of our town. In the following years, our reputation grew and we provided so many amazing meals and menu options that got rave reviews.
As the needs of our business grew, it became more and more clear that in order to best serve our children, we would have to close down the hot-food portion of our business. The time it took to maintain quality standards and supervise so many employees was taking away from our ability to spend quality time with our kids. In late October of 2021, we made the incredibly hard decision to close the business entirely.
Unexpected Re-Opening
When we closed BJ's at the end of 2021, we had no idea that nine months later, we would have had sorted out some family scheduling and would be able re-open the ice cream portion of the business using a walk-up window in the back of the building.

For Tiger Lilli
A place where kids can be themselves
It's been a couple of years now since Tiger Lilli was diagnosed with ASD - also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder. When BJ's came available for sale and we decided to purchase it, it was motivated in part by a desire to provide a landing place for her as she grew up. We wanted to make sure that she would always have a place where she could be herself and be employed safely.
Tiger Lilli has continued to grow, thanks to countless therapy sessions, appointments and the dedication of our family - which is passionate about ensuring that she and all our little ones have every opportunity to thrive.
She will live with this brain difference for the rest of her life, but we are confident and hopeful that BJ's will be a big part of providing for her future.
